Read: Foreward

At one time or another, we have all been victims of something – from the not-so-big-a-deal to the absolutely devastating. I have looked at pictures of me taken in the 1980s. What was I thinking? I was tricked by the fashion industry into thinking those leg warmers looked good! I have also been a victim of breast cancer.

Some of us have been victims of someone else’s narrow mind.

Many of us have been the victim of some kind of discrimination: the color of our skin; the money, or lack of it, in our bank account; the wheelchair; the accent; our gender; blonde hair (after all, you can’t have a brain).

And we all get to choose whether we stay a victim or not.

Harmony’s is the story of a girl who courageously decided not to remain a victim. She was the victim of so much pain that it breaks my heart, and yet she chose to survive. She did whatever it took to survive. And then she made the very brave decision to move from just being a survivor to becoming an overcomer.

A victim is in the dark. A survivor sees a light at the end of the tunnel and hangs on.

An overcomer becomes the light for someone else.

Harmony wrote her story so that you and your friends may get help to move out of whatever dark tunnel you find yourself in. I know her heart, and it is to see all of us live our lives in the very purpose for which we were created. I do want to warn you – once you start this book, you will not be able to put it down. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be encouraged, you will fall in love with God all over again... and you will want to get a copy for every person you know.
